SENATE JOINT RESOLUTION NO. 492 Commending Helios HR.   Agreed to by the Senate, February 25, 2009 Agreed to by the House of Delegates, February 27, 2009  

WHEREAS, Helios HR was honored by the Greater Reston Chamber of Commerce and Reston Interfaith, Inc., with a prestigious 2009 Best of Reston award; and

WHEREAS, the Best of Reston awards were established to recognize individuals, businesses, and organizations that have demonstrated a strong commitment to serving the Reston community and improving the lives of others; and

WHEREAS, Helios HR is a trusted human resources consulting advisor led by president and CEO Kathy Albarado who believes that it is a privilege for companies to contribute to the success of the communities that support them; and

WHEREAS, the Helios HR team makes lunches for the Embry Rucker homeless shelter, participates in the “Walk for the Homeless,” and contributes coats to the annual Hunter Mill District Coat Drive; and

WHEREAS, Helios HR has been a supporter of the Northern VA Family Services CARE awards, the Make-a-Wish Foundation, and the Women in Technology Mentor-Protégé Program; and

WHEREAS, acknowledging the remarkable work in employee development done by local area employers, Helios HR launched the Helios HR Apollo Awards, which recognize companies that promote employee development as part of their organizational culture; and

WHEREAS, an excellent corporate citizen, Helios HR has shared its success with the community and made significant contributions to the lives of countless citizens and organizations; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the Senate, the House of Delegates concurring, That the General Assembly hereby commend and congratulate Helios HR on its outstanding service to the citizens of Northern Virginia and on its well-deserved honor as a 2009 Best of Reston award recipient; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the Senate prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Helios HR as an expression of the General Assembly’s admiration and gratitude for its efforts on behalf of the community of Reston.
