Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That the Code of Virginia is amended by adding a section numbered 18.2-255.3 as follows:

§ 18.2-255.3. Prohibiting the sale of medicines containing dextromethorphan on school property; penalty.

Any person who sells any over-the-counter medicine containing dextromethorphan upon the property, including buildings and grounds, of any public or private elementary or secondary school is guilty of a Class 1 misdemeanor.
