096596250Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. § 1. That the Commonwealth of Virginia, Department of Military Affairs is hereby authorized to convey by gift, with the approval of the Governor and in a form approved by the Attorney General, to the Town of Altavista, the Altavista Armory land, and all property on said land, in Campbell County. Such property is more particularly described as follows: all of that certain piece or parcel of land, situated partly in the corporate limits of the Town of Altavista and partly in the Otter River Magisterial District, Campbell County, Virginia, containing 6.2 acres, as shown and described on a certain plat recorded in the Clerk's Office of Campbell County Circuit Court, Virginia in DB 337 PG 42. The property is further described by metes and bounds as follows: beginning at a concrete monument set in the western margin of Avondale Drive, thence leaving said drive S.88°11'W. 350 feet to an iron; thence S.8°19'E. 313.9 feet; thence S.22°04'W. 250.7 feet to an iron; thence S.67°43'E. 300 feet to an iron; thence N.23°47'E. 92.9 feet to an iron; thence N.23°07'E. 80.9 feet to an iron; thence N.23°30'E. 36.4 feet to an iron; thence S.83°43'E. 200 feet to an iron; thence N.27°14'E., passing an iron at 125.6 feet, 140 feet to the aforesaid western margin of Avondale Drive; thence with said margin of said drive 460 feet to the BEGINNING. The appropriate officials of the Commonwealth are hereby authorized to prepare, execute, and deliver such deed and other documents as may be necessary to accomplish such conveyance. The Town of Altavista shall pay all costs and expenses incurred in the transfer.
