HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION NO. 882 Commending Nicole Wimmer.

WHEREAS, Nicole Wimmer of Franklin County is commended for her selection as Miss Greater Franklin County; and

WHEREAS, women from Henry, Patrick, Pittsylvania, and Franklin Counties participated in the Miss Greater Franklin County and Miss Danville-Pittsylvania County Scholarship pageant, which was held at Franklin County High School in Rocky Mount; and

WHEREAS, the pageant supports and promotes intelligent, poised, and highly motivated young women, who wish to make a difference in their community and earn scholarship money to further their education; and

WHEREAS, a dedicated and hard-working student, Nicole Wimmer received $1,700 in scholarships; and

WHEREAS, scores for the pageant were based on competition in talent, judges’ interview, swimsuit, and evening gown categories; and

WHEREAS, a proud community volunteer, Nicole Wimmer, concerned about traffic fatalities in her peer age group, is actively involved in the Youth of Virginia Speak Out about Traffic Safety organization, which works to prevent teen traffic fatalities; and

WHEREAS, Nicole Wimmer, a senior at Franklin County High School, is the daughter of Wendell and Kim Wimmer of Union Hall; and

WHEREAS, a talented, intelligent, and dedicated young woman, Nicole Wimmer will represent Franklin County at the Miss Virginia Pageant to be held June 27, 2009, in Roanoke; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly commend Nicole Wimmer for her selection as Miss Greater Franklin County; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Nicole Wimmer as an expression of the General Assembly’s congratulations and best wishes for continued success in all her future endeavors.
