096771664WHEREAS, Dr. Louis Michael Breeden, age 57, of Henrico County, a respected citizen and admired physician, died on March 22, 2008; and
WHEREAS, Louis Michael "Mike" Breeden was born on October 28, 1950, in Winchester, graduated with honors from James Wood High School in Winchester and graduated cum laude from the University of Richmond and the Medical College of Virginia; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Breeden was a highly respected and well-liked family practice physician in the Richmond area for over 25 years; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Breeden was certified by the American Board of Family Practice and a member of the Richmond and Virginia Academies of Family Practice; his professional duties included service as past chairman of the Department of Family Practice at St. Mary’s Hospital and past medical director of Lakewood Manor Retirement Home; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Breeden was a former deacon and elder at First Presbyterian Church in Richmond, where he served as superintendent of the Sunday school program for many years; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Breeden’s untimely death saddened his many friends, patients, and family members who remember him fondly; and
WHEREAS, Mike Breeden will be deeply missed by his wife of 32 years, Nancy Toms Breeden, his sons Eric and Turner, his daughter Blair Breeden Burnett, his grandson Edward L. Burnett, III, as well as his mother, Anna Sue Stickley Breeden, his three brothers, and other family members and friends; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly hereby note with great sadness the loss of a fine physician, a devoted community servant and an outstanding Virginian, Dr. Louis Michael Breeden; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of Dr. Louis Michael Breeden as an expression of the General Assembly’s respect for his memory.
