Commending the American National Bank and Trust Company.

WHEREAS, the American National Bank and Trust Company of Danville is commended on the occasion of its 100th anniversary of service to its customers; and

WHEREAS, the American National Bank and Trust Company was established in 1909 to provide community banking services to the citizens of Danville; and

WHEREAS, over the past 100 years, the American National Bank and Trust Company has grown from a single office on Main Street in Danville to a regional, progressive financial institution serving Southern and Central Virginia and the northern portion of Central North Carolina; and

WHEREAS, the American National Bank and Trust Company provides a full array of financial products and services, including commercial, mortgage, and consumer banking; trust and investment services; and insurance; and

WHEREAS, the American National Bank and Trust Company has 273 employees in 20 branch locations and has more than $100 million in shareholder’s equity and $800 million in assets; and

WHEREAS, the American National Bank and Trust Company maintains its commitment to building relationships through quality financial services with exceptional customer service; and

WHEREAS, the American National Bank and Trust Company has been actively involved in the Danville community during the past century, helping charitable and civic organizations meet the needs of Danville; and

WHEREAS, the American National Bank and Trust Company celebrated its centennial with a festive open house that drew large crowds to commemorate 100 years of service to the Danville community; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly commend the American National Bank and Trust Company on the occasion of its 100th anniversary; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the American National Bank and Trust Company as an expression of the General Assembly’s respect for its longevity and service to its customers.
