095951720Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That the Code of Virginia is amended by adding a section numbered 19.2-11.01:1 as follows:
§ 19.2-11.01:1. Notification of service of protective order.
A person on whose behalf a protective order has been entered pursuant to § 16.1-253, 16.1-253.1, 16.1-253.4, 16.1-278.14, 16.1-279.1, 19.2-152.8, 19.2-152.9, 19.2-152.10, or 20-103 shall be notified of the service of a protective order by the local police department, sheriff's office, or other law-enforcement agency that served the order on the person subject to the order, if the person on whose behalf the protective order was entered has provided his name, current address, and telephone number in writing. Such information may be provided through the Virginia Statewide VINE (Victim Information and Notification Everyday) System or other similar electronic or automated system.
