SUMMARY AS INTRODUCED:

Extended unemployment benefits.  Codifies the requirement of federal law that Virginia's Unemployment Compensation Act set out a criterion for eligibility for extended unemployment benefits.  The requirement, which is consistent with the Virginia Employment Commission's administrative procedures, states that an otherwise-eligible individual, during his base period, must either have had 20 weeks of full-time insured employment or have earned more than 40 times the individual's most recent weekly unemployment benefit amount.
