2008 SPECIAL SESSION II
WHEREAS, Patrice M. Winter is recognized for her outstanding service to the citizens of the City of Fairfax as a member of the Fairfax City Council from 2002 to 2008; and
WHEREAS, Patrice Winter is a dedicated physical therapist and coordinator of Eldercare Services at George Mason University and serves as a spokesperson for the American Physical Therapy Association and a member of the board of the Virginia Physical Therapy Association; and
WHEREAS, during her tenure on the Fairfax City Council, Patrice Winter has diligently represented city residents on many boards and commissions, including the National Capital Region Transportation Planning Board and the Metropolitan Washington Air Quality Council; and
WHEREAS, Patrice Winter has been a partner and supporter of the City of Fairfax Commission for Women that identifies and addresses the needs of women in the Fairfax community; and
WHEREAS, Patrice Winter has given her time and talents to many civic organizations over the years, including as a member of the board of directors of Fairfax Spotlight on the Arts; and
WHEREAS, a resident of Fairfax since 1986 and the mother of two children, Patrice Winter is actively engaged in countless community activities and events, and she frequently may be seen about the city as a living history interpreter, playing the role of Fairfax Confederate heroine, Antonia Ford; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly commend Patrice M. Winter for her outstanding service to her fellow citizens as a member of the Fairfax City Council; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Patrice M. Winter as an expression of the General Assembly’s appreciation of her many achievements and best wishes in all of her future endeavors.
