SUMMARY AS ENACTED WITH GOVERNOR'S RECOMMENDATION:

Virginia Employment Commission orders. Authorizes final orders of the Virginia Employment Commission (VEC) with respect to overpayments of unemployment benefits to be recorded, enforced and satisfied as orders or decrees of a circuit court upon certification of such orders by the Commissioner of the VEC.

Authorizes final orders of the Virginia Employment Commission (VEC) or circuit court with respect to overpayments of unemployment benefits to be recorded, enforced and satisfied as orders or decrees of a circuit court upon certification of such orders by the Commissioner of the VEC or the court.

SUMMARY AS INTRODUCED:

Virginia Employment Commission orders.  Authorizes final orders of the Virginia Employment Commission (VEC) or circuit court allowing unemployment benefits to be recorded, enforced and satisfied as orders or decrees of a circuit court upon certification of such orders by the Commissioner of the VEC or the court. The measure also deletes a provision that allows overpayments of unemployment benefits, with interest and fees and costs, to be collectible by civil action in the name of the VEC.
