SUMMARY AS PASSED:
Reporting of infectious diseases; residential facilities. Adds persons in charge of residential or day programs, services, or facilities licensed by any agency of the Commonwealth to the list of nonphysicians who must report disease outbreaks. This bill is identical to SB 463 (Whipple).
SUMMARY AS PASSED HOUSE:
DMHMRSAS and DSS to report infectious diseases. Requires any residential facility or service licensed or operated by the Department of Mental Health, Mental Retardation and Substance Abuse Services, any day or residential program for children or adults licensed by the Department of Social Services, any school, or any summer camp to report an outbreak of disease to the local health director or to the Commissioner of Health. This bill also authorizes the director of any medical care facility, residential facility or service licensed or operated by the Department of Mental Health, Mental Retardation and Substance Abuse Services, day or residential program for children or adults licensed by the Department of Social Services, school, or summer camp to voluntarily report additional information, including individual cases of communicable diseases, at the request of the Department of Health for special surveillance or other epidemiological studies.

DMHMRSAS and DSS to report infectious diseases. Requires any residential facility or group home licensed by the Department of Mental Health, Mental Retardation and Substance Abuse Services or the Department of Social Services to report cases of diseases required to be reported by the Board of Health.
