Celebrating the life of Travis A. Tennessee.

WHEREAS, Travis A. Tennessee, an upstanding young citizen of Chesapeake, died on February 5, 2008; and

WHEREAS, a junior at Western Branch High School, Travis Tennessee was a conscientious student who was well-liked by students and teachers alike; and

WHEREAS, a back-up offensive lineman on the Western Branch varsity football team, Travis Tennessee always showed up for practice and followed through on the coaches’ advice for ways he could improve his game; and

WHEREAS, Travis Tennessee was an active member of Zion Baptist Church in Portsmouth, where he was vice president of the Youth Ministry and a member of the Youth Usher Board and the Young Life Ministry; and

WHEREAS, an upbeat person who was able to get along with all kinds of different people, Travis Tennessee will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by his mother and father, Cheryl and Clinton; his sister, Tiffany; his brothers, Michael and Brian; and countless other family members and good friends; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the Senate, the House of Delegates concurring, That the General Assembly hereby note with great sadness the loss of Travis A. Tennessee, a fine young Virginian; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the Senate prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of Travis A. Tennessee as an expression of the General Assembly’s respect for his memory.
