WHEREAS, the William Campbell High School softball team won the 2007 Virginia High School League (VHSL) Group A softball championship on June 9, 2007; and

WHEREAS, the William Campbell High School Generals (25 - 3) claimed their first state title in a 4 - 0 victory over Glenvar High School; and

WHEREAS, the triumphant performance of the 2007 Generals is a tribute to the talent, commitment, and perseverance of the players; the leadership of Head Coach Chris Smith and his staff; and the support of the parents, students, and faculty of William Campbell High School; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the Senate prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Head Coach Chris Smith as an expression of the General Assembly’s admiration for the outstanding performance of the 2007 Generals’ softball team.
