088981332WHEREAS, the All Saints Choir of Men and Boys of All Saints Episcopal Church in Richmond celebrates its 110th anniversary season in 2008–2009; and
WHEREAS, representative of the rich Anglican tradition in choral music, the All Saints Choir of Men and Boys has members ranging in age from eight to eighty, and over the years some 1,000 boys and young men have been a part of this exceptional group; and
WHEREAS, the All Saints Choir of Men and Boys has toured throughout the East Coast, sung at the National Cathedral in Washington, D.C., traveled four times to Great Britain, and produced several recordings, and their annual Lessons and Carols Christmastime service has been broadcast on Central Virginia public radio for the enjoyment of thousands; and
WHEREAS, the leadership of the All Saints Choir of Men and Boys is in the talented and capable hands of organist and choirmaster Andrew C. Koebler, only the fourth director in the group’s 110-year history; and
WHEREAS, the All Saints Choir of Men and Boys will kick off its 110th anniversary season in the fall of 2008 by returning to Great Britain to sing in several cathedrals; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the Senate, the House of Delegates concurring, That the General Assembly hereby commend and congratulate the All Saints Choir of Men and Boys on the occasion of its 110th anniversary; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the Senate prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the All Saints Choir of Men and Boys as an expression of the General Assembly’s best wishes for continued success in the future.
