086280316WHEREAS, Magdalene Pat Hall of Stuart, a beloved citizen and an outstanding public servant and community supporter, died on November 30, 2007; and
WHEREAS, Pat Hall was born in Henry County on September 18, 1928, the daughter of the late J. R. and Madgie Spencer Moore; and
WHEREAS, a dedicated and outstanding public servant, Pat Hall worked as a general registrar for Patrick County for many years; and
WHEREAS, a congenial as well as immensely knowledgeable registrar, Pat Hall especially enjoyed talking with people and meeting new voters, assisting them in any way she could with the voting process and other county services; and
WHEREAS, Pat Hall was a faithful member of the Stuart Baptist Church, and over the years, she served as a Sunday School teacher and in many other capacities, including as a member of the choir, pastor selection committee, Women’s Missionary Union, Joy Workers, and Elaine Hancock Circle; and
WHEREAS, always willing to lend a helping hand to her fellow citizens in need, Pat Hall was active in Stuart Baptist Church’s many missions at home and abroad, as well as in other worthy causes and projects in the community; and
WHEREAS, committed to the well-being of Patrick County and its residents, Pat Hall was an enthusiastic supporter of many civic organizations and community activities; and
WHEREAS, Pat Hall will be fondly remembered for her kind and generous nature and greatly missed by her devoted husband, James E. Hall; her two sons, Jerry and Jim Hall Jr. and his wife Susan; her two step-grandchildren, Jason and Jennifer, and step-great-grandchild, Julian; her numerous other family members and friends; and the residents of Patrick County; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the Senate, the House of Delegates concurring, That the General Assembly note with great sadness the passing of a fine public servant and outstanding Virginian, Magdalene Pat Hall; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the Senate prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of Magdalene Pat Hall as an expression of the General Assembly’s respect for her memory.
