088074276WHEREAS, Rosa Bernice Cannon Boush of Chesapeake, a respected citizen and beloved evangelist and missionary in Hampton Roads for many years, died on June 26, 2007; and
WHEREAS, Rosa Boush was born on November 3, 1919, in South Mills, North Carolina, and married her beloved husband, the late Phillip Boush; and
WHEREAS, Rosa Boush became a faithful member of C.H. Mason Memorial Church of God in Christ on Goff Street in Norfolk under the guidance of Bishop D. Lawrence Williams and then Bishop David Williams; and
WHEREAS, called Mother Boush by her congregation and countless friends, Rosa Boush was always ready to help her fellow citizens in need, participating enthusiastically in a multitude of activities at the church wherever she was needed; and
WHEREAS, Rosa Boush became a certified missionary and evangelist, working at C.H. Mason Memorial Church of God in Christ and in her community; and
WHEREAS, a sensitive and inspirational leader in the church, Rosa Boush touched the lives of countless individuals and families in Hampton Roads and beyond; and
WHEREAS, Rosa Boush will be fondly remembered as a wonderful friend, mentor, and teacher and greatly missed by her son Phillip and granddaughter Cheryl; her numerous other loving family members; and the congregation of C.H. Mason Memorial Church of God in Christ; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the Senate, the House of Delegates concurring, That the General Assembly mourn the passing of a fine Virginian, Rosa Bernice Cannon Boush; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the Senate prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of Rosa Bernice Cannon Boush as an expression of the General Assembly’s respect for her memory.
