HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 9 Offered January 15, 2008 Amending and readopting Rule 84 of the Rules of the House of Delegates and amending the Rules of the House of Delegates by adding Rule 85, pertaining to the General Assembly Building and the State Capitol. ---------- Patron-- Spruill ----------

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That Rule 84 of the Rules of the House of Delegates is amended and readopted and that the Rules of the House of Delegates are amended by adding Rule 85 as follows:

V. Conduct of Business. General Assembly Building and the State Capitol.

Rule 84. Only law-enforcement officers of the Commonwealth on official duty shall be permitted in the Hall of the House of Delegates, the Gallery of the House of Delegates, House of Delegates meeting rooms in the State Capitol, or areas assigned to the House of Delegates in the General Assembly Building with a firearm.

Rule 85. The area of the General Assembly Building assigned to the members of the House of Delegates, their legislative support staff, the clerical staff of the House of Delegates, the facilities and space for those charged with the maintenance, repair, and security of such building, and such space designated for the news media shall not be utilized or occupied as office space by any other person or persons, except by vote of the House or the Rules Committee.
