2008 SESSION
087341520RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That Rules 20, 22, and 23 of House Joint Resolution No. 31, as amended by House Joint Resolution No. 614, of the 2008 Regular Session of the General Assembly of Virginia are amended and reenacted as follows:
Rule 20. The first conference on the Budget Bill(s) shall
complete its deliberations no later than midnight, MondayWednesday,
March 1012,
2008, and the report of such conference shall be made available to all members
of the General Assembly. No engrossment of the Budget Bill(s) shall be required
in either house, and any conference on the Budget Bill(s) shall consider, as
the basis of its deliberations, the Budget Bill(s) as recommended by the
Governor and introduced in the House and the amendments thereto proposed by
each house.
Rule 22. This session of the General Assembly shall be
extended beyond the 60-day period provided in Section 6 of Article IV of the
Constitution of Virginia to midnight, TuesdayThursday,
March 1113.
Members shall receive a session per diem payment for any day or days on which
their attendance is required at a meeting of any committee, subcommittee, or
conference committee on pending legislation upon submission
to the respective Clerk of an attendance roll call, or at a
scheduled floor session in which aan
attendance roll call vote is
taken.
Rule 23. Pursuant to Section 6 of Article IV of the
Constitution of Virginia, the General Assembly shall reconvene Wednesday, April
1623,
2008, for the purpose of considering bills that may have been returned by the
Governor with recommendations for their amendment and bills and items of
appropriation bills, including the general appropriation act, that may have
been returned by the Governor with his objections.
