2008 SESSION
WHEREAS, Tina H. Allman, an admired citizen and businesswoman, is recognized for her many contributions to the community of Dumfries; and
WHEREAS, Tina Allman, co-owner of CarsIncorporated.com in Dumfries, was honored as the 2005 Quality Dealer of the Year by the Virginia Independent Automobile Dealers Association; and
WHEREAS, the Virginia Quality Dealer of the Year award annually recognizes an independent dealer for his or her contributions to the industry, community and professional service, and adherence to a code of ethics; and
WHEREAS, after a career in the entertainment industry and a rewarding experience as the executive director of the National Composition and Prepress Association, Tina Allman was ready for yet another challenge, and she and her husband, Kent "Duke" Allman, purchased Cars, Incorporated of Woodbridge in 1988, moved it to Dumfries in 1990, and changed the name to CarsIncorporated.com; and
WHEREAS, Tina Allman has served in numerous leadership positions in the Virginia Independent Automobile Dealers Association, and through that organization has worked to improve the image of used-car dealers and make local and state legislators aware of the industry's importance and contributions to individual communities and to the Commonwealth; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly hereby commend Tina H. Allman for her dedication to the automobile industry, her community, and the Virginia Independent Automobile Dealers Association; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Tina H. Allman as an expression of the General Assembly's admiration for her many achievements and her commitment to her community.
