Celebrating the life of Kyle Robert Wilson.

WHEREAS, Kyle Robert Wilson, a firefighter with the Prince William County Department of Fire and Rescue, died in the line of duty on April 16, 2007; and

WHEREAS, responding with his station to an early morning, three-alarm blaze at a home in Woodbridge, Kyle Wilson perished while searching for occupants possibly trapped in the house; and

WHEREAS, born in Maryland, Kyle Wilson grew up in Prince William County, graduated from C. D. Hylton High School in 2000, where he was a star baseball player, and earned his bachelor’s degree in athletic training from George Mason University in 2005; and

WHEREAS, Kyle Wilson joined the Prince William County Department of Fire and Rescue in January 2006, graduated from the county’s Public Safety Academy in June 2006, and was then assigned to Fire Station 12; and

WHEREAS, a born leader who was known as much for his kind heart and warm smile as for his great drive and determination, Kyle Wilson was totally committed to doing his best whether he was on the fire truck or playing softball with friends; and

WHEREAS, deeply dedicated to family and friends, Kyle Wilson will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by his parents, Bob and Sue; his brother Chris and sister Kelli; his girlfriend, Kristi Silor; his grandparents, uncles, aunts, and cousins; and numerous other friends and fellow public safety professionals; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly hereby note with great sadness the loss of Kyle Robert Wilson, a selfless hero who risked his life to save others; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of Kyle Robert Wilson as an expression of the General Assembly’s respect for his memory.
