2008 SESSION
WHEREAS, Regina Ann Brewer of Roanoke, a beloved citizen and talented photographer and business owner, died on January 10, 2008; and
WHEREAS, Regina Brewer was born on August 20, 1960, the daughter of Rowena Stone and Joe Brewer, Sr., and graduated from William Fleming High School and Virginia Western Community College; and
WHEREAS, Regina Brewer was a gifted tennis player who participated in numerous city tournaments and won many trophies and often could be found on the courts of Eureka Park; and
WHEREAS, the successful business owner of Focused on You, Regina Brewer was an excellent photographer who created memorable photos of all kinds, and she immensely enjoyed creating lasting memories for her clients and loved ones; and
WHEREAS, Regina Brewer was employed by Photo USA for many years, was a freelance reporter for Black Pages magazine of Roanoke, and for the past five summers worked for Roanoke College’s Upward Bound program; and
WHEREAS, committed to giving back to her community, especially its young people, Regina Brewer taught basic photography to students in an after-school program at Hurt Park Elementary School; and
WHEREAS, Regina Brewer was a faithful member of Hill Street Baptist Church, served as a senior usher and a member of the Women of Grace Ministries, and was active in the church's many missions in the community; and
WHEREAS, Regina Brewer will be fondly remembered for her tremendous talent and sensitivity and her kind and generous nature and will be greatly missed by her devoted parents, Joe Sr. and Rowena; her brother Joe Jr. and his wife JaCynthia; and many other loving relatives and friends; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly mourn the passing of a fine Virginian, Regina Ann Brewer; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of Regina Ann Brewer as an expression of the General Assembly’s respect for her memory.
