084189560WHEREAS, Edward Lee Andrews, Jr., native son and affectionately known as "Junie," entered into eternal rest on December 15, 2007; and
WHEREAS, Edward Lee Andrews, Jr., born in Dinwiddie County, was nurtured and educated in the Birdville section of Petersburg and was a graduate of Tidewater Community College; and
WHEREAS, Edward Lee Andrews, Jr., served his country honorably and with distinction in the United States Navy, and after his retirement from the Navy, he worked as a food service manager at the Little Creek Naval Base until his health failed; and
WHEREAS, an active member of his community, Edward Lee Andrews, Jr., faithfully served his church family at New First Baptist Church, Taylorsville in Portsmouth until his death, and also served as a past worshipful master of the local Masonic Lodge; and
WHEREAS, loving memories of Edward Lee Andrews, Jr., will be cherished by his family and many relatives, friends, church family, coworkers and neighbors; and countless others are thankful for the privilege of knowing, serving, and working with him; he touched many lives through his benevolence, sacrifice and encouragement; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly hereby note with great sadness the loss of Edward Lee Andrews, Jr.; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of Edward Lee Andrews, Jr., as an expression of the General Assembly’s respect for his memory and appreciation for his life and service to the citizens of the Commonwealth.
