086350768Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That § 63.2-905.1 of the Code of Virginia is amended and reenacted as follows:
§ 63.2-905.1. Independent living services.
Local departments may shall
provide independent living services to persons between 18 and 21 years of age
who are in the process of transitioning from foster care to self-sufficiency who were in foster care at
the time of their 18th birthday. Any
qualifying person who initially refuses services shall not become ineligible
solely because of such refusal, and may request and receive
services after such refusal until such
time as the person reaches 21 years of age.
