Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1.  § 1. That any assisted living facility that has not been cited during the most recent five-year period for a violation of licensing requirements pursuant to Article 1 (§ 63.2-1700 et seq.) or Article 3 (§ 63.2-1719) of Chapter 17 of Title 63.2 of the Code of Virginia, Article 1 (§ 63.2-1800) of Chapter 18 of Title 63.2 of the Code of Virginia, or regulations promulgated by the Board of Long-Term Care Administrators shall be exempt from the licensure requirement set forth in § 63.2-1703 of the Code of Virginia. Any medication aide employed by any assisted living facility exempted from the licensure requirement of § 63.2-1703 of the Code of Virginia pursuant to this section shall be exempt from the registration requirements set forth in § 54.1-3041 of the Code of Virginia.
