CHAPTER 133 An Act to amend the Code of Virginia by adding in Chapter 9 of Title 63.2 a section numbered 63.2-914 and by adding in Article 1 of Chapter 12 of Title 63.2 a section numbered 63.2-1220.1, relating to foster and adoption workers; minimum training requirements. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1.  That the Code of Virginia is amended by adding in Chapter 9 of Title 63.2 a section numbered 63.2-914 and by adding in Article 1 of Chapter 12 of Title 63.2 a section numbered 63.2-1220.1 as follows:

§ 63.2-914. Establishment of minimum training requirements.

The Department shall, pursuant to Board regulations, establish minimum training requirements and shall provide educational programs for foster and adoption workers employed by the local department and their supervisors.

The Department shall, pursuant to Board regulations, establish minimum training requirements and shall provide educational programs for foster and adoption workers employed by the local department and their supervisors.

2. That any costs associated with complying with the provisions of this act shall be absorbed by the Department of Social Services within the funds appropriated to it by the General Assembly for training and assistance to local staff.
