Introduced by: Jeannemarie D. Davis | all patrons    ...    notes | add to my profiles

SUMMARY AS ENACTED WITH GOVERNOR'S RECOMMENDATION: (all summaries)

Traffic signal enforcement programs; civil penalty. Grants localities the authority to operate traffic signal enforcement systems. Generally, localities may install photo-monitoring systems at no more than one intersection for every 10,000 residents at one time, except that, in Northern Virginia (Planning District 8), traffic light signal photo-monitoring systems may be installed at no more than 10 intersections in any locality, regardless of population. Provisions within the bill limit the use and retention of recorded images and provide other parameters and limitations for localities, provided, however, that within planning District 8, each study locality may install and operate within each county, city, or town, whichever is greater, at any one time.
