SUMMARY AS INTRODUCED:
Fighting of cocks and other animals. Makes it a Class 6 felony for any person to engage in the fighting of cocks or other animals except dogs. Under the dogfighting statute, it is currently a Class 6 felony to engage in dogfighting. The bill also makes it a Class 6 felony to possess to train, transport, or sell any animal for the purpose of fighting. The penalty for attending a cock or other animal fight is increased from a Class 3 misdemeanor to a Class 1 misdemeanor.
