SUMMARY AS PASSED:

Electronic payment of Medicaid providers.  Requires the Department of Medical Assistance Services to utilize, to the extent practicable, electronic funds transfer technology for reimbursement to contractors and enrolled providers for the provision of health care services under Medicaid and FAMIS.

Mandatory electronic payment of Medicaid providers.  Requires the Department of Medical Assistance Services to utilize, to the extent practicable, electronic funds transfer technology for reimbursement to contractors and enrolled providers for the provision of health care services under Medicaid and FAMIS.

SUMMARY AS INTRODUCED:

Mandatory electronic payment of Medicaid providers.  Requires the Department of Medical Assistance Services to include a provision for the electronic payment of medical assistance in all contracts with service providers. Provides that such electronic payments shall be the only method of payment available pursuant to such contracts.
