SUMMARY AS PASSED HOUSE:

BPOL tax; refusal to grant and revocation of business licenses.  Prohibits the issuance of a business license to any individual who cannot provide legal documents proving such individual is legally eligible to be employed or to work in the United States.  The bill also authorizes commissioners of the revenue to revoke a license that has already been issued to such an individual.

SUMMARY AS INTRODUCED:

BPOL tax; refusal to grant and revocation of business licenses.  Prohibits the issuance of a business license to any person who (i) is an alien and who cannot provide legal documents proving such person is legally eligible to be employed or to work in the United States, or (ii) has as an employee of the business any such alien.  The bill also authorizes commissioners of the revenue to revoke a license that has already been issued.
