SUMMARY AS PASSED HOUSE:
Alcoholic beverage control; farm wineries. Provides that no county, city, or town shall adopt an ordinance or resolution that prohibits or regulates the storage, warehousing, or wholesaling of wine by a licensed farm winery, so long as it is done in accordance with state and federal law and ABC regulations.
SUMMARY AS INTRODUCED:
Alcoholic beverage control; farm wineries. Provides that no county, city, or town shall adopt an ordinance or resolution that prohibits a licensed farm winery from being located in an agricultural zoning district or that, except as provided in § 15.2-2288.3, regulates the activities at a farm winery where the purpose is to promote, market, sell, or educate guests about the wine produced at the farm winery. The bill also expands the privileges of a farm winery license.
