2007 SESSION
HB 2309 Shotguns; eliminates certain requirements for hunting migratory game birds.
Introduced by: L. Scott Lingamfelter | all patrons ... notes | add to my profiles | history
SUMMARY AS PASSED HOUSE:
Use of shotguns. Authorizes the Board of Game and Inland Fisheries to change the shotgun shell capacity through regulations. This bill also conforms the hours a person can hunt with a pistol, muzzle-loading pistol or revolver to the hours allowed to hunt with other weapons.
SUMMARY AS INTRODUCED:
Use of shotguns. Eliminates the requirement of having only a three-shell capacity in the magazine and chamber when hunting nonmigratory game but retains this requirement for hunting migratory game birds, as this limitation is required by federal law. The bill also gives the Board the discretion to remove the three-shell limitation, thereby allowing the Board the flexibility to respond to any easing of the federal limitation on shell capacity for hunting migratory game birds.
