SUMMARY AS PASSED HOUSE:
Cruelty to animals; penalty. Makes it a Class 6 felony if any person who has been convicted of violating the animal cruelty statute is convicted within five years of the prior offense of maliciously depriving a companion animal of necessary food, drink, shelter, or emergency veterinary treatment, and either the previous or current violation has resulted in the death of an animal.
