SUMMARY AS PASSED HOUSE:
Special conservators of the peace; jurisdiction. Allows a special conservator of the peace to operate outside of the jurisdiction of his appointment if the sheriff, chief of police, or corporation that made the application for appointment notifies the new jurisdiction in which the conservator needs to operate and the Department of Criminal Justice Services, via registered mail. The terms and conditions of the conservator's appointment shall apply in the new jurisdiction.
SUMMARY AS INTRODUCED:
Special conservators of the peace; jurisdiction. Allows a special conservator of the peace to operate outside of the jurisdiction of his appointment if the sheriff, chief of police, or corporation that made the application for appointment notifies the new jurisdiction in which the conservator needs to operate and the Department of Criminal Justice Services, via registered mail. The terms and conditions of the conservator's appointment shall apply in the new jurisdiction. The bill also states that such certification is not required in the case of an emergency related to public safety or preservation of the peace.
