Commending Brian Strobel.

WHEREAS, Brian Strobel has been the voice of morning radio on Fredericksburg’s WFLS 93.3 FM since 1977; and

WHEREAS, a native of Hornell, New York, and a graduate of Syracuse University, Brian Strobel knew from a very young age that he wanted to host his own radio show; and

WHEREAS, Brian Strobel produced radio shows with friends as a youngster, and in high school, he worked at the radio station in Hornell; and

WHEREAS, after a stint at a station in Roanoke, Brian Strobel came to WFLS in 1977, and over the past three decades he has helped thousands and thousands of radio listeners start their day, bringing them the latest news and playing country music; and

WHEREAS, open and accessible to his listeners, Brian Strobel says he is just a neighbor who happens to be on the radio; and

WHEREAS, always concerned for the welfare of others, Brian Strobel has been a longtime organizer for the Children's Miracle Network and the annual WFLS Shoe Fund Auction; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the Senate of Virginia, That Brian Strobel hereby be commended for his 30 years of outstanding service to the Fredericksburg community; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the Senate prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Brian Strobel as an expression of the Senate’s admiration for his dedication and commitment to quality radio broadcasting.
