Commending Lynbrook Elementary School on the occasion of its 50th anniversary.

WHEREAS, on March 12, 2007, Lynbrook Elementary School celebrates 50 years of providing a nurturing and stimulating educational environment to children in the Springfield community; and

WHEREAS, Lynbrook Elementary School serves a richly diverse population, offering a quality education while valuing different learning styles and responding to each child's academic and developmental strengths and needs; and

WHEREAS, Lynbrook Elementary has an excellent reputation for its many programs and activities and its partnerships with area businesses; and

WHEREAS, Lynbrook Elementary offers services for students with autism, Head Start, preschool special education, and English for speakers of other languages instruction for children and adults as well as numerous before- and after-school enrichment programs; and

WHEREAS, INOVA HealthPlex, Baja Fresh Mexican Grill, and Kirkwood Presbyterian Church are a few of the local businesses and organizations that have partnered with Lynbrook Elementary to provide mentors, tutors, translation services, and support for field day activities and fundraisers; and

WHEREAS, always striving to improve, Lynbrook Elementary School works collaboratively with students, staff, families, and the Springfield community to develop the academic, social, and emotional skills students need to be good citizens and achieve success in our ever-changing world; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the Senate, the House of Delegates concurring, That the General Assembly hereby commend and congratulate Lynbrook Elementary School on the occasion of its 50th anniversary; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the Senate prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Principal Mary McNamee on behalf of the students, teachers, and administration of Lynbrook Elementary School as an expression of the General Assembly's best wishes for future success.
