SENATE JOINT RESOLUTION NO. 464
Commending Access National Bank.

WHEREAS, Access National Bank was honored by the Greater Reston Chamber of Commerce and Reston Interfaith, Inc., with a 2007 Best of Reston award; and

WHEREAS, the Best of Reston awards were established to recognize individuals, businesses, and organizations that have demonstrated a strong commitment to serving the Reston community and improving the lives of others; and

WHEREAS, Access National Bank is a community bank in Reston that provides comprehensive services for individuals and businesses in the Washington metropolitan area; and

WHEREAS, Access National Bank believes that good business means getting involved in the community, and the company strongly supports efforts by employees and clients to make a difference in the lives of residents in Northern Virginia; and

WHEREAS, Access National Bank is actively engaged in leadership and support roles with a number of charities, including long-term commitments to Reston Interfaith, Inc., Brain Injury Services, and the Adult Community Education Foundation, sponsoring events and donating time and money to these and other organizations; and

WHEREAS, believing that businesses have a responsibility to partner with communities in order to improve opportunities and outcomes for all community members, Access National Bank has made building relationships with local organizations a priority; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the Senate, the House of Delegates concurring, That the General Assembly hereby commend Access National Bank for its outstanding service to the citizens of Northern Virginia and congratulate the company on its 2007 Best of Reston award; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the Senate prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Access National Bank as an expression of the General Assembly’s admiration and gratitude for the company’s efforts on behalf of Reston and communities in the surrounding area.
