Celebrating the life of Michael Dean Wolfe.

WHEREAS, Michael Dean Wolfe of Covington, an admired citizen and the respected clerk of the Alleghany County Circuit Court, died on March 25, 2006; and

WHEREAS, Mike Wolfe was born on August 15, 1948, the son of the late Dorothy and Luther Wolfe, and he grew up and attended school in Alleghany County; and

WHEREAS, Mike Wolfe received a bachelor’s degree from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, earned a master’s degree in education from the University of Virginia, and was a veteran of the Vietnam War; and

WHEREAS, a dedicated and talented educator, Mike Wolfe served for 21 years as a teacher and guidance counselor at Alleghany High School; and

WHEREAS, in 1992, Mike Wolfe was elected to his first term as clerk of the Alleghany County Circuit Court, a position he held until his death; and

WHEREAS, committed to improving the quality of life of his neighbors and his fellow veterans, Mike Wolfe gave of his time and considerable talents as an active member of the Boiling Spring Ruritan Club, the Curtis A. Smith Post 1033, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the Covington Chapter of the NAACP; and

WHEREAS, Mike Wolfe was a faithful member of the Temple Baptist Church and a participant in the church's many missions in the community; and

WHEREAS, Mike Wolfe will be fondly remembered for his kind and generous nature and greatly missed by his devoted wife, Regina Lynn, and his two beloved sons, Brandon and Derek; his granddaughter and numerous other loving family members and friends; and the citizens of Alleghany County; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the Senate, the House of Delegates concurring, That the General Assembly mourn the passing of a fine public servant and outstanding Virginian, Michael Dean Wolfe; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the Senate prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of Michael Dean Wolfe as an expression of the General Assembly’s respect for his memory.
