075415396Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That the Code of Virginia is amended by adding a section numbered 32.1-276.6:1 as follows:
§ 32.1-276.6:1. Reporting of abortion complications.
The Board of Health shall require the reporting, compilation, and analysis of data on complications resulting from any abortion procedure. Any physician, regardless of whether he performed the abortion, who treats a patient experiencing complications from an abortion procedure which occur within 60 days of the performance of the procedure, shall report to the Board on such complications in accordance with the Board's regulations. The Board's regulations shall address, among other complications, any infections, perforations, long-term reproductive dysfunction, and psychological problems which have resulted from abortions.
2. That the fifth enactment of Chapter 902 of the Acts of Assembly of 1996, as amended by the first enactment of Chapter 691 and the second enactment of Chapter 764 of the Acts of Assembly of 1999, and the first enactment of Chapter 331 of the Acts of Assembly of 2002, is repealed.
