HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 72
Commending Robert McDaniel.

 

Agreed to by the House of Delegates, February 23, 2007

 

WHEREAS, Robert McDaniel is a dedicated and determined Eagle Scout who completed all 121 merit badges offered by Boy Scouts of America; and

WHEREAS, a resident of the St. Mark's area of Nottoway County, 18-year-old Robert McDaniel is a member of Troop 7538 in the Town of Victoria in Lunenburg County; and

WHEREAS, out of nearly 800,000 Boy Scouts in troops across the country in 2006, approximately 58,700 were Eagle Scouts, and fewer than five Eagle Scouts nationwide could claim to have completed all the merit badge courses; and

WHEREAS, Robert "Robb" McDaniel pursued the badges with a patience and perseverance not often seen in a young person, satisfying the requirements for each one thoroughly and completely; and

WHEREAS, with the constant support and encouragement of his parents, Robb McDaniel took time during family trips to do research and sometimes traveled on weekends to work with people who helped him acquire the necessary knowledge for different badges; and

WHEREAS, Robb McDaniel was recognized for his extraordinary achievement at the 2007 Friends of Scouting fundraising dinner held on February 8, 2007, in Richmond; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That Robert McDaniel hereby be commended on his successful completion of all 121 Boy Scout merit badges; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Robert McDaniel as an expression of the House of Delegates' admiration for his tremendous accomplishment.
