2007 SESSION
WHEREAS, Dr. John Armstrong retired from the Buena Vista City School Board, completing his term of service as a member of the board on June 30, 2006; and
WHEREAS, John Armstrong was elected by the citizens of Buena Vista to a term on the Buena Vista City School Board, which began on July 1, 2002; and
WHEREAS, a dedicated and enthusiastic board member, John Armstrong served on the Finance Committee and the Policy Committee and chaired the Policy Committee during the 2005–2006 year; and
WHEREAS, an active member of the Buena Vista City School Board, John Armstrong attended many meetings and public events, communicating with parents, teachers, administration, and staff to share their concerns and ensure that adequate consideration be given to the issues that impact Buena Vista City Public Schools; and
WHEREAS, John Armstrong gave unselfishly of his time and talents to further enhance the educational opportunities for all of the students in Buena Vista; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly commend Dr. John Armstrong for his commitment to the students, parents, alumni, faculty, and staff of Buena Vista City Public Schools; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Dr. John Armstrong as an expression of the General Assembly’s appreciation for his dedication and service to Buena Vista City Public Schools as a member of the Buena Vista City School Board, along with best wishes for his well-deserved retirement from the Board.
