WHEREAS, Dr. Penny Fauber retired from the Buena Vista City School Board, completing her term of service as a member of the board on June 30, 2006; and

WHEREAS, Penny Fauber was first elected by the citizens of Buena Vista to a term on the Buena Vista City School Board, which began on July 1, 1998; and

WHEREAS, Penny Fauber completed her first term of service to the Buena Vista City School Board on June 30, 2002, and was re-elected, serving another term from July 1, 2002, to June 30, 2006; and

WHEREAS, a dedicated and hard-working community servant, Penny Fauber has served on the Buena Vista City School Board's Finance Committee and Policy Committee and chaired the Policy Committee during the 2004–2005 year; and

WHEREAS, an active and enthusiastic board member, Penny Fauber attended numerous meetings and public events, communicating with parents, teachers, administrators, and staff regarding their concerns that adequate consideration be given to the issues that impact Buena Vista City Public Schools; and

WHEREAS, Penny Fauber gave unselfishly of her time and talents to further enhance the educational opportunities for all of the students in the Buena Vista community; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly commend Dr. Penny Fauber, member of the Buena Vista City School Board, for her commitment to the students, parents, alumni, faculty, and staff of Buena Vista City Public Schools; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Dr. Penny Fauber as an expression of the General Assembly’s appreciation for her dedication and service to Buena Vista City Public Schools as a member of the Buena Vista City School Board, along with best wishes for her well-deserved retirement from the Board.
