Commending Michael E. Stinnett.

WHEREAS, Michael E. Stinnett, a highly respected citizen and outstanding public servant, is recognized for his longtime service to the community of Amherst; and

WHEREAS, committed to improving the quality of life of his fellow citizens, Michael Stinnett served as a member of the Amherst Town Council from July 1, 1998, to June 30, 2006; and

WHEREAS, a great mentor and supporter of young people, Michael Stinnett has coached Little League baseball and T-ball and has served as president of the Amherst County High School Booster Club; and

WHEREAS, an avid sports enthusiast, Michael Stinnett is an excellent golfer, a member of the Amherst-Nelson Hokie Club, and has served as the treasurer of Winton Country Club for several years; and

WHEREAS, Michael Stinnett is a faithful member of Emmanuel Methodist Church, has served as treasurer for over 20 years, and is active in the church's many missions in the community; and

WHEREAS, the Town of Amherst is a better place in which to live and work because of the numerous contributions of Michael Stinnett; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly commend and congratulate Michael E. Stinnett for his dedication and outstanding service to the citizens of the Town of Amherst; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Michael E. Stinnett as an expression of the General Assembly’s gratitude for his many achievements and best wishes for a happy and rewarding retirement.
