WHEREAS, Linda Robinson, the outstanding legislative liaison for the County of Henrico since 1991, will retire in May 2007; and
WHEREAS, during her tenure, Linda Robinson has ensured, in a highly professional and capable manner, that legislators were aware of the position of Henrico County on pending legislation; and
WHEREAS, Linda Robinson has been straightforward, diligent, and trustworthy in facilitating open communication between members of the General Assembly and the County of Henrico; and
WHEREAS, Linda Robinson has served as a valuable source of information to the members of the legislature, legislative aides, and other lobbyists; and
WHEREAS, Linda Robinson has been active in the promotion of county governments nationwide through the National Association of Counties (NACO), the NACO Large Urban County Caucus, the NACO Homeland Security Committee, and the National Association of County Intergovernmental Relations Officials (NACIRO); and
WHEREAS, Linda Robinson has helped lawmakers in the Capital Region Caucus examine and discuss issues of importance to the metropolitan Richmond area; and
WHEREAS, a tireless and hardworking advocate, Linda Robinson's efforts have led to the passage of many legislative measures of benefit to the County of Henrico, including the expansion of the Greater Richmond Convention Center; and
WHEREAS, Linda Robinson has developed excellent working relationships with legislators in her own delegation, as well as throughout the state; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly hereby commend Linda Robinson for her outstanding service to the County of Henrico and the Commonwealth; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Linda Robinson as an expression of the General Assembly’s gratitude for her service and best wishes for a rewarding retirement.
