WHEREAS, Tim Nevill of the Marshall District of Fauquier County was honored as a 2006 Citizen of the Year by the Fauquier County Board of Supervisors on January 11, 2007; and

WHEREAS, each year Fauquier County honors citizens from each magisterial district for their outstanding contributions to the community; and

WHEREAS, Tim Nevill has been an outstanding leader and dedicated member of the Fauquier County SPCA’s board of directors since 1978; and

WHEREAS, Tim Nevill has served as vice president of the Fauquier County SPCA for over 25 years, and in 2005 he also took on the enormous responsibilities of treasurer of the organization; and

WHEREAS, committed to the humane treatment of animals in Fauquier County, Tim Nevill has been instrumental in the expansion and improvement of the Fauquier County SPCA’s numerous programs and activities to increase adoption and match pets with responsible and loving owners; and

WHEREAS, Tim Nevill has worked diligently to promote the Fauquier County SPCA’s mission to provide local animals with the most complete shelter services possible; and

WHEREAS, a tireless community servant, Tim Nevill also volunteers as the chair of the local chapter of the American Red Cross and as a member of the Fairfax County Library board of trustees; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly commend and congratulate Tim Nevill as 2006 Fauquier County Citizen of the Year for the Marshall District; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Tim Nevill as an expression of the General Assembly’s gratitude for his dedication to the Fauquier County community.
