Commending Sally Tufts.

WHEREAS, Sally Tufts of the Marshall District of Fauquier County was honored as a 2006 Citizen of the Year by the Fauquier County Board of Supervisors on January 11, 2007; and

WHEREAS, each year Fauquier County honors citizens from each magisterial district for their outstanding contributions to the community; and

WHEREAS, Sally Tufts has served as the dedicated president of the Fauquier County SPCA for 32 years; and

WHEREAS, committed to making a difference in her community, Sally Tufts has been instrumental in the development of numerous programs to protect and assist animals in Fauquier County and surrounding areas; and

WHEREAS, with hard work and endless enthusiasm, Sally Tufts inspires her colleagues, volunteers, and fellow residents to support the Fauquier County SPCA and its mission to provide local animals with humane treatment and the most complete adoption services possible; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly commend and congratulate Sally Tufts as 2006 Fauquier County Citizen of the Year for the Marshall District; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Sally Tufts as an expression of the General Assembly’s gratitude for her dedication to the community of Fauquier County.
