HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION NO. 824
Commending Jennifer Blackwell.

WHEREAS, Jennifer Blackwell was honored by the Greater Reston Chamber of Commerce and Reston Interfaith, Inc., with a 2007 Best of Reston award; and

WHEREAS, the Best of Reston awards were established to recognize individuals, businesses, and organizations that have demonstrated a strong commitment to serving the Reston community and improving the lives of others; and

WHEREAS, since 2003, Jennifer Blackwell has dedicated over 1,800 hours to the Reston Association, one of the largest homeowner associations in the United States; and

WHEREAS, Jennifer Blackwell served as secretary of the Reston Association in 2003 and 2004 and as president and chair of the board of directors in 2005 and 2006; and

WHEREAS, in addition to presiding over meetings and serving on numerous committees during her tenure as president, Jennifer Blackwell took a leadership role in the process of reviewing and redrafting the association's governing documents; and

WHEREAS, adeptly juggling motherhood, her career as an attorney with the Justice Department, and tremendous service to her community, Jennifer Blackwell has worked with great energy and dedication to help improve the lives of the residents of Reston; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly hereby commend Jennifer Blackwell for her outstanding service to the citizens of Northern Virginia and congratulate her on her 2007 Best of Reston award; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Jennifer Blackwell as an expression of the General Assembly's admiration and gratitude for her efforts on behalf of the community of Reston.
