Commending Leadership Fairfax, Inc., on the occasion of its 20th anniversary.

WHEREAS, in 2007 Leadership Fairfax, Inc., located in Vienna, is celebrating the 20th anniversary of its mission to develop, connect, and inspire leaders to strengthen their communities; and

WHEREAS, founded in 1987, Leadership Fairfax, Inc., known as LFI, is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization designed to bring together leaders from business, government, nonprofit, and community sectors within a multidisciplinary forum to exchange ideas and strategies to meet the economic, social, cultural, and civic needs of Fairfax County; and

WHEREAS, Leadership Fairfax, Inc., provides excellent programs and opportunities that support and sustain the growth and development of the Northern Virginia region and its current and future leaders; and

WHEREAS, Leadership Fairfax, Inc., is an organization that has established a strong tradition of service and building leadership capacity that impacts hundreds of organizations; and

WHEREAS, Leadership Fairfax, Inc., helps build bridges within the community between private, public, and nonprofit sectors and between diverse cultural communities, as well as among alumni and new class members; and

WHEREAS, Leadership Fairfax, Inc., develops individual leadership capacities and establishes a network of graduates who contribute to the welfare of Fairfax County, the region, and the Commonwealth; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly commend Leadership Fairfax, Inc., for its many outstanding programs and its extraordinary efforts to build a strong future for the Fairfax community and the Commonwealth; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Susan B. Horne, president of Leadership Fairfax, Inc., on behalf of its alumni and Class of 2007, as an expression of the General Assembly’s gratitude for LFI's commitment to the citizens of Fairfax County.
