076337400Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That the Code of Virginia is amended by adding a section numbered 46.2-1222.2 as follows:
§ 46.2-1222.2. Local ordinances prohibiting parking of certain vehicles.
The governing body of any county, city, or town may by ordinance prohibit the parking on streets [ , ] adjacent to commercial business areas [ , ] of vehicles with gross weights in excess of 12,000 pounds or lengths of 30 feet or more, unless such vehicles are actively engaged in loading or unloading operations [ or waiting to be loaded or unloaded or are engaged in or preparing to engage in utility or similar service work ] .
