HOUSE BILL NO. 1943 AMENDMENT IN THE NATURE OF A SUBSTITUTE (Proposed by the House Committee on General Laws on January 23, 2007) (Patron Prior to Substitute--Delegate Purkey) A BILL to amend the Code of Virginia by adding in Article 1 (§ 2.2-800 et seq.) of the Chapter 8 of Title 2.2 a section numbered 2.2-813.2, relating to the Comptroller; reports of other obligations of the Commonwealth.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That the Code of Virginia is amended by adding in Article 1 (§ 2.2-800 et seq.) of the Chapter 8 of Title 2.2 a section numbered 2.2-813.2 as follows:

§ 2.2-813.2. Biannual disclosure by Comptroller of other obligations of the Commonwealth.

To assist in the managing, planning, and budgeting of the state's financial resources, the Comptroller, in conjunction with the Secretary of Finance, shall report biannually to the Governor and the members of the General Assembly each off-balance sheet financial obligation of the Commonwealth, itemized by agency, board, institution, or authority of the Commonwealth, and such other obligations of the Commonwealth that are estimated by the Comptroller to be incurred.
