1. Line 26, introduced,
strike
all of lines 26 through 28 and through term on line 29
insert
terms; however, a person first appointed to fill an unexpired term may serve three additional full three-year terms. The remainder of a term to which a member is first appointed to fill a vacancy shall not constitute a term in determining the member’s eligibility for reappointment. However, after a 12-month period has elapsed since the end of the member’s last three-year term, if the governing body of a city or county determines that a board member had served with distinction, the governing body may reappoint that member for no more than one additional three-year term. In no instance shall a member serve more than a total of up to 12 years
